• Choice and Flexibility. GLA International’s curriculum challenges scholars to achieve at their highest possible levels, and allows teachers to meet each scholar’s diverse learning, social, and emotional needs. As scholars mature, they have more choice and flexibility in their daily schedules, allowing for internships, dual enrollment, and customized learning. GLA International uses a block schedule, allowing for deeper learning and more variety in course offerings.
  • Active Learning. All courses include hands -on, active global leadership projects which allow scholars to apply their learning in real-world, global contexts.
  • Out of School Learning. GLA International scholars go on at least two international excursions between Freshman and Senior year. No scholar is barred from travel because of financial reasons. Scholars also develop skills through intentional series of real world local excursions and work-placements including internships.
  • Four Professional Pathways. Scholars will choose to concentrate in one of four areas: Entrepreneurship, World Affairs, Health and Wellness, or Technology and Engineering. Your professional pathway will shape your electives, projects, excursions, and work placements.
  • Currencies. At GLA International, scholars gain four real-world “currencies” they need for success. These were defined by Stephanie Malia Krauss in her book MAKING IT: What Today’s Kids Need for Tomorrow’s World (2021). The four currencies GLA International scholars gain are
  • COMPETENCIES. The academic and social know -how you need to operate in the world.
  • CREDENTIALS. Proof (certificates, badges, degrees) that are valid in the world of work.
  • CONNECTIONS. People who will open doors for you, providing access and support as you start off in life.
  • CASH. GLA International will remove financial barriers and smooth your entry into post-secondary life.
